Bout time

This is Amy, the one who never blogs. Today though I am stepping up to the plate, because in my inbox was some great news worth sharing. Before Christmas break, I attended an open call to be in a movie, and here's what they just sent:

Illegal movies during emotional times, fire and false predictions

A couple of things to report:

1) Amy got really emotional while watching[illegally online] The Bucket List tonight. She recommends it.
2)The building next to ours caught on fire. There were about 8 fire trucks and the full FDNY armada on our block. Neat but totally unnecessary. Here is a picture.
3)Two days ago the weather reported that we would be getting up to 8" of snow. Never snowed. Tonight they said it was going to be partly cloudy. It's snowing. Good job.

Dude update

Referring to this post.

Well the bad news is that the commercial is not for the Superbowl. The good news is that you can see me in it in the first scene and a later one where he stands up to yell for the beer guy. $1 to whoever can find me. Here it is...

Updates

So the next few posts will be about our trip to FL. We were there for so long and did so much that one post won't hold it all. Stay tuned. For starters, here's a shot of downtown Tampa as we circled heading to the airport.

Visitors

We had a couple of visitors while house sitting for Amy's mom and Hank. Andy, who works with Amy at school, stayed a couple of days since he was already down for a friends wedding in Orlando.

The other visitor was much smaller and very anti-social. It was a squirrel that decided to come in and check things out. After a massive squirrel hunt that was futile, several couch-cushion blockades, and a family of drunken rednecks with pool equipment(don't ask) the little guy still evaded capture. So we went to bed and the next morning he was chillin in the middle of the family room just waiting for us I guess. Amy opened the door and he ran into the laundry room where we trapped him then we opened the garage door and he ran out. Then tried to run back in. It's nice in there for squirrels. Here he is on the bookshelf just before he jumped directly at Amy who screamed like she was going to die. I mean really it's just a squirrel.

Belleview Biltmore Mansion

Amy's Dad took all the kids to lunch at the Belleview Biltmore Mansion. I guess technically it's called Brunch but it was noon so I call it just plain old L unch. Anyway, we had a great time and I just wanted to take a nap on the grass afterwards. I highly recommend it. The food not the nap.

Christmas Party yeah!

A big thank you to the Marais family who hosted a great Christmas party this year. There was excellent food, wine, dancing, and friends. It's nice to go home and see people that you love. Those South-Africans sure know how to show a good time.

Amy Golfs

We went to the driving range to enjoy the warm FL weather. Amy has a consistent range of about 15 yards with a driver. She's good. Notice the lifted heel, rotated hips and shoulders, and concentration in the face. LPGA here we come.

Little DeVo's

These are the little one's of the DeVore family: Bailey, Tyler, and Emmy. Tyler is featured more than the others, but that's because he is hysterical. He turned out to be the star of the bunch this time.

Sometimes they don't like to have a picture taken. This scene lasted about 2 minutes then all was fine after a little break. Kids...
