Our "Public Safety Officers" here in Roosevelt Island ride around on Segways. The other day I saw one of them doing figure 8's around flower pots along the sidewalk. Needless to say there is not much crime here.
Better Robocops and no crime than the alternative. Nice to know you live in such a safe area. No falling cranes, no catcalls on the way to work.... All you have to watch out for is the occasional wheelchair race. ;) We had a mid-morning break-in down the street a couple weeks ago, so now our door is locked ALL day. Can't let Bailey go 2 doors down w/o watching him. Sad.
