I'm gonna say half a million.

That's how many people were in central park last night for the NY Philharmonic. It's a tradition every summer for them to play several concerts in the park. If the number wasn't 500,000 then it's close to it. Everywhere you looked there were people sitting shoulder to shoulder covering the entire great lawn. Picnic blankets and bare feet was the norm for the night. Around us a group had some heat in a can and were toasting marshmallows. Directly behind me was a couple who decided to bring the entire contents of their refrigerator. Seriously, 5 different plates of cheese, a couple bottles of wine, crackers, fruit, cookies etc, etc. Someone kicked their glasses over more than once. At the end of the show there were some fireworks at the opposite end. Those were nice and everyone seemed to enjoy them. The weather was perfect with a cool breeze blowing through. I'd do it again..

Were you close enough to hear the music?
